Mildred was born 15th of January 1944, in MangroveCay Andros. She was the last child born to Alexander and Evelyn Sweeting Hermother died when Mildred was at a tender age and was further raised by hersisters Maryann and Celest there she would learn the manners and respect aswell as the ways of a young lady.

Mildred attended the Catholic School, she enjoyedlearning and was always keen on her class work and responsibly.

At the age of eighteen Mildred met and married Mr.Norman Edden (Deceased). That union produced two sons. Although this union wasnot a story book tail. Mildred was determined to be the best mother she couldbe. She sacrificed and with the support of her family ensured that her childrennever went without. Mildred later had another son which she also provided bothlove and guidance. Mildred made her home in both Freeport, Grand Bahama andNassau, New Providence.

Being a good mother and her family were a majorpriority for Mildred and all that knew were aware. She would share whatever shehad and always a kind word to everyone. Mildred also believed in taking care ofherself and ensuring that she was always well dressed a presentable for everyoccasion. She also always believed that nothing was too good for her she alwayswanted only the best of everything and taught her children the same self esteemvalues. On meeting her for the first time she always expressed her pride andlove for them.

After leaving Mastic Point, Andros where she hadbeen living with her older sister and niece for about a year, she came to livein Nassau with her son in August 2023.

At that time Mildred was having memory lapses andbegan to have difficulties walking and stomach issues. The beginning of 2024was a rough period for both Mildred and her son. Frequent visits to the doctorand hospital seemed to bring no relief. There came a time when she could not beleft alone.

On Saturday April 27th, 2024, a decision was made toadmit Mildred to Pat’s Home for Senior Citizens, as she needed 24hour care.  Later on that day her niece Louise came andvisited her. Louise was able to sing and pray with Mildred leading her to theLord and she was at peace in her soul. The next morning her son anddaughter-in-law were able to visit and talk with her. Both noticed somethingdifferent but could not identify what it was. They both visited Mildred againthat day for a short period.

At about 4:30pm her son was advised to come to thenursing home his mother was having difficulties. On arrival he was told his momhad passed, and was led to her bedside. Mildred laid there motionless but hadthe most peaceful smile on her face. Her son knew she was at peace.
