In Loving Memory of

Chovius "Charlie" Villarceau

4th April 1940
to
29th February 2024

It was April 8, 1940, a cool springmorning in the beautiful “land of high mountains”, Haiti. On that day in JeanRabel, Fond Ramadou, a baby boy was born to the proud parentage of ChovetteVillarceau and Sidelina Louis (both deceased), and they named him ChoviusVillarceau.  He was affectionately called“Charlie”.   Charlie was taught to beindustrious and hardworking, and to live peaceably with his fellowmen. Healways exhibited traits of diligence and dedication. These qualities were thestandards which would prepare him for the vicissitudes of life.

Charlie was raised under the care ofMadam Lascaris, and left his homeland in 1973, settling in The Bahamas.  He engaged in meaningful employment as a landscaper/Painterand worked with distinction.  He was aman of many talents and mastered them all.

Charlie met his wife, Fidelia andtheir union was blessed with six children. Charlie and Fidelia parted ways, but remained friends and Charliemaintained his fatherhood role. Sometime later, he met Esther Rahming (nowdeceased) and fathered her two sons, along with his twin girls born to LoriciaSt. Jules. Charlie was a disciplinarian, but always sought the best for hisfamily.  He never shunned hisresponsibilities and believed in eating bread by the sweat of his face.  He worked hard and instilled in his childrenqualities to ensure that they would be outstanding citizens.

Charlie was always very strong, however over the past few years, his health steadily declined.  The love and care he received along with theblessings of the Master, sustained him daily and although immobile, he wouldstill engage in conversations and remained coherent to the end.  He peacefully died on Thursday, 29th February, 2024.
